Tropic Thunder
Got Tropic Thunder out on DVD last weekend.
I was hoping for a good film but expect to be disappointed.
I have a saying “pessimists are never disappointed and occasionally pleasantly surprised”.
Well I was pleasantly surprised.
It was quite funny. Way over the top at times but not chasing a joke, for the most part it worked well.
The cast all worked well particularly Robert Downey Jnr and Jack Black. Most of you will have been told to watch out for Tom Cruise’s cameo, well they are spot on it is close to the best work he has ever done!
If you get a chance see it and try not to get annoyed by Ben Stiller carrying an M4 when he is supposed to be making a film set during the Vietnam war. Mind you it is a film inside a film so it could be a clever way of showing how incompetent the guys making the movie are.
I enjoyed it as well. Not having a high expectation certainly helped.
Might have to give it a look sometime.
Naut, well it is meant to be a parady and it looked like an late model xm177 with the full length barrel to me (rarely seen outside of the US and the central americas).
Yes tomboy at the end was the best, bastard still dances better than me!!!

Not a Ben Stiller fan but if someone got out the DVD I’d watch it.

I liked it too. Twas over the top but watchable. Loved the fella getting monstered by the landmine. Funny as hell.
Haven’t seen this yet but I will have to catch it…How was the Sophia’s Holiday? Did anyone get a dirt bike???
Saw it last night. Enjoyed the Tom Cruise cameo. Almost made me forget about the time he jumped the couch.

Yeah, Nick Nolte was born to play that character.
I laughed sooooo hard when they showed the clip for the Downey Jnr gay Monk movie!
